What’s different about recycling with ABC?

More for your cans

Because ABC Recycling is part of the Containers for Change™ scheme, we can pay approximately 10 times more than what you’d get for your cans at a scrap metal facility. For more information on eligible cans, check out how it works. 

We pay cash

As a legitimate Container Refund Point, ABC Recycling is fully authorised to pay cash. Our customers can drive in and deliver their eligible containers and be paid cash in hand, on the spot.

Alternatively, customers can opt to have their refund deposited into a Containers for Change™ account of their choosing. Here’s some more information on how it works.

Unlimited pay-out

ABC Recycling doesn’t have a limit as to what we can pay out for a single drop-off, or a limit on the quantity of eligible containers that can be brought in at a single time.

This is particularly advantageous for our larger customers that need to drop off thousands of containers at a time, such as sporting clubs, pubs and restaurants, charities and schools.

As required by the Containers for Change™ scheme, larger drop-offs of 825 containers or more do require photo ID to be shown before they can receive payment.

No book-in required

There’s no book in required, even for large drop-offs. If we happen to be busy when you arrive with your large drop-off, we’ll collect your bags from your vehicle and tag them with your details. They will then be stored in a secure area* until they can be processed. We’ll then contact you to let you know the container count number and your refund amount.

Generally, quieter times are Wednesdays and Thursdays before 3pm, which means shorter waiting times.

*All of our operational areas are under CCTV surveillance for your peace of mind.

NEW 24/7 Bag Drop

We've made it easy to recycle your containers on your own schedule because we know not everyone can make our opening hours. 

How it works

1. BAG IT: Bag your containers in a sturdy bag, ensuring it is securely fastened.
2. TAG IT: Write your Member Number (aka Scheme ID) & phone number on the bag using a waterproof marker or sticker.
3. DROP IT: Pull open the chute door, place your bags inside and close the door. Your containers will be counted and your refund deposited into your nominated account.

Free large collection service

ABC Recycling offers a free collection service for local Bundaberg businesses or organisations that are recycling large quantities of eligible containers on a frequent basis. Businesses or organisations must be located in the Bundaberg CBD area.

This free service is available on application only, please contact us for further details.
