ABC Recycling is a Bundaberg based container refund business, and part of the Containers for Change™ scheme, a Queensland initiative run by Container Exchange (COEX).

Our business provides a means for people to obtain a 10 cent cash refund for each eligible container brought in to our centre.

The goal of the Containers for Change™ scheme is to reduce public litter and landfill, and we’re excited to be part of it, enabling Queenslanders to do their bit to help the environment and keep our state beautiful by recycling, and benefiting financially from it!

Regional Queensland’s largest Containers for Change™ partner

With 35+ years experience in the recycling industry and a team of 14 staff, ABC Recycling is the largest Containers for Change™ refund point in regional Queensland; as far north as Townsville and as far south as Brisbane.  

As such, we have clients both large and small dropping in with their eligible containers from the greater Bundaberg and Wide Bay areas, including regular clients from as far as Gayndah and Biggenden. 

What we love about what we do

We love that our business plays a part in helping the environment through recycling and we love seeing our customers getting excited about participating in the Containers for Change™ scheme as well.

So what do we love about what we do?

• Helping the environment - It’s great seeing cleaner streets and less plastic bottles and cans in the gutters. Queensland has one of the lowest recycling rates in the country, and containers are the second most littered item. We love that we’re playing a part in changing these stats!
• Everyone walks away happy! – We get a buzz out of seeing everyone really happy when they come in and get cash for their containers.
• Kids getting into recycling - We love seeing kids coming in and getting some hard-earned pocket money, as well as learning from an early age about caring for our environment.
• Helping fundraisers - It’s great that we can help sporting clubs and charities with this awesome fundraising opportunity.
• People are getting fit! - Our customers tell us that they’re out walking the streets more often, collecting containers as they go. Getting paid to exercise, what a great idea!
